Here is what I did:
1) Wrapped tin foil over anything electrical including the DI.
2) I used a citrus based degreaser where it was needed to get the grime off - I let that sit for about 10 to 15 minutes
3) I took my hose under low pressure and sprayed off the degreaser.
4) Anything that was left I used a toothbrush and degreaser and scrubed it off and hosed that off.
5) Once dry I used an all purpose cleaner on the hoses and metal and plastic to get them clean.
6) I used Mother's polish on the silver plate and stainless steel tube you can see.
7) I took the grill off and cleaned off the bugs and what not on the radiator and intercooler and sprayed them off.
8) I used back to black on the rubber hoses as a protectant and to make them look like new.
9) I took the grill and the plastic black section behind the DI and cleaned them with dawn and water in the kitchen sink and then add back to black on the black piece.
10) I hand cleaned the DI and block with degreaser and a toothbrush and multi-purpose cleaner. Be careful around the DI.
11) wiped it down and touched it up.
12) Any metal around the hood jam under the hood etc I used a spray bootle with water and Zaino car wash. and wiped it off.
Looks pretty good. Below is a before shot of the DI - it was pretty nasty. I spent a lot of time take this car back to new condition - it need a lot of little detailed work to get it right.
