Okay I need some advice. I got off the train today to find that my car had been involved in a mulitple car fire incident. Apparently the fire was caused by sparks from an overhead transformer that caught some grass (Very tall grass) on fire and up the cars went. The insurance will be looking at my car tomorrow. My guess is that the train company (that owns the parking lot) is going to blame the electric company and the electric company is going to blame the train company for the grass. Also I am sure the train company will say that I parked there at my own risk (I do pay to park). Yes I do have insurance but here are some of issues.
1)Park at our own risk seems resonable when you think about theft/breakins. Having your car totaled from a brush fire seems like a totaly different matter.
2)I should get a pay out and my car should be worth more than I owe. I did not however plan this morning that I would neeed to replace my car. It was a 99 9-3 with only 35,000 miles, and in great condition.
Any thoughts? What would you do? My area has free legal clinics and I was thinking of going there for some advice. Also the train company had a representative there that took my contact information. What do you think that means? Do you think they are expecting to get sued?
