Here is the deal. My family had a 1978 900 for 22 years. It was destroyed when a drunk driver decided to lose control in a parking lot. I grew up in that car and have some great memories of it. Now I am about to get married and I really would like to have the Saab experience once again.

That only problem that I have is that I keep hearing that Saabs I the 90’s have been known to have some reliability issues. My next car has to be something that is as close to bullet proof as possible.

I love the idea of having another Saab coupe and I have liked everything I have read about the 2001 9-3 Viggen.

So my question is very simple. Has Saab (and the Viggen) gotten beyond its reliability problems or should I just wait for the 2004 models (which I hear is a new platform)?
