People's preception of Bikers and other loose ends

It has to be admitted that bikers have a bad reputation no matter what they ride. But some groups recieve less grief because of what they ride. I can't imagine many getting uptight about Grandpa on his Honda Interstate. But it is my perception that bikers are a nuissance to the general car society. I believe it's NC that will never see a national BMW rally because of the police harrassment the rally received.
Within the bike community these divisions of "rides" exist. I ride a Moto Guzzi, which basically places me in a phantom group, in the social waste land between the sport bikes, the Harleys, the tourers (aka Honda Interstate), and the BMW sophisticate. I get the odd position of listening to the near zealot justifications for there bike without receiving pointed attacks of my own bike.
Having said that, Harley's have the patriotic nod in this country. Can't deny that American Iron. The new demographic of a Harley owner is upper middle-class. If they have the money to buy a Harley, they have money to blow at Myrtle beach. Sport bikes are foreign. A sport bike's performance for the dollar is well suited for the young middle-class which spends most of the money to get to Myrtle beach. But when it comes to rampant stupidity neither is clear winner. I've experience stupid behavior from both parties in equal strength.
My idea for the discrimination/closure is the emergence of a new rider class. Motorcycles are becoming a vehicle of leisure. The closures are showing a distrust in the new class of riders. A distrust in the abilities of the Black riders to have legitimate funding for their leisure vehicle and the activities associated with those vehicles. Black riders are not of the ordinary so apparently they resisted.
People have commented that I look like a terrorist with my riding suit and helmet on. I'm merely trying to protect myself... Maybe it's time to find a lawyer.
