Too complicated, hard to program by feel

I hate the way it dictates fan speed, air temperature and distribution for you. I also hate that it dictates whether the AC condenser comes on or whether the heat comes on.
I usually like to have the fan on at all times when I'm in the car, blowing fresh outside air (unless it's really cold -- like 30 degrees -- outside).
The ACC will see a temp setting of 70 and turn on the AC condenser (wasting energy) if the temp inside the car is even a degree above that. Conversely, if my temp setting is at 72 or 74, and the temp inside the car is 62-64 (which I find comfortable), the heat comes on! That's silly. I don't want a brainless microchip dictating when the AC comes on or when the heat comes on.
I also hate the way it dictates fan speed. I want to dictate fan speed. If I want the thing blowing 40 miles an hour in my face, I'll set it that way.
The process of getting the car to run the fan without a/c and without heating the car, and at the fan speed you want means pressing very small buttons a bunch of times or holding them down. That is annoying to the nth degree.
I want the controls from my C900. One dial for heat, one dial for distribution, one dial for speed. I also want to ACC to default to *not* put the AC condenser on. I want to dictate that, for fuel economy and performance considerations as well.
ACC defaults to *its* preferred settings, not to *my* preferred settings. I am the driver. I will dictate the settings.
