Just got the new Automobile and saw the banglized 5 series - formerly a car I always admired. Its the perfect marriage of German Bauhaus imitating Japanese Pokemon styling. It looks like you could buy it and immediatly file an insurance claim to have it fixed.

I thought the comments on the Z4 were a little harsh, after all its a feel good sports car and is supposed to be different, maybe the 745 comments were a little justified, but I still didn't understand all the fuss. But the new 5 series just loses the serious, confident posture of the traditional BMW, especially after the advance notice they got on the 745. Its a Pontiac Grand Prix imitating a Nissan something with an 80's Cadillac Seville ass. Gotta feel sorry for the beemerites.

Interesting articles on the Harley Earl Buick from the 50s (ugly but real), and a great article on the remake of the Ford GT 40 a car that got me interested in cars as a kid.

By the way, do you think we should e mail Robert Cumberford and ask him to do a style analysis of the SAAB C900 3 door?
