It is the wear metals in a new engine that you need to worry about. the larger bits get caught in the oil pump pickup screen or the oil filter. The smaller bits go through the filter and go around and around. The wear from rings, camps, followers, chains (if fitted) and cylinder walls are hard and the ones that go throught the filter are large compared to the oil file thicknesses. So these can damage piston skirts and shell bearings which are soft. The only way to remove these is to drain the oil. The vehicle should be driven to 'stir' these up so that more comes out with the oil.
A really strong oil drain plug magnet can remove the ferrous wear metals from the oil that cause seconary wear.
A new engine will product a lot of this wear material. Wear metals also act like catalysts and cause oil oxidation and polymerization. I suggest frequent changes for at least 10K.
And the low miles suggest short trips and the oil will get contamination that is a problem. This is classified as severe duty.
