Whats it take to be a locksmith? Posted by andy [Email] (#759) [Profile/Gallery] (more from andy) on Wed, 9 Jul 2003 16:12:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just locked myself out of the house, all spare keys were in the car that was locked in the garage, GF had the other set and was hours away.
Called the local locksmith who opened the garage door lock in maybe four seconds and then said "$55 , bud". OK, I'll pay for my stupidity without complaining.
Now being the mechanical type, I assume there is some training to be able to do what he does. No disrespect intended, but how hard would it be to learn how to do that? Any courses or special licensing required? It would be nice to be able to do this myself, in the time honored SAAB owner tradition.
Then again, I'd probably lock the tools in the house and have to call a pro anyway. Any insights?
