The sick part of all this 4WD/SUV 'craze' is that people have been brainwashed to think that 4WD is a requirement to get anywhere. I'd bet a paycheck that 99% of all the vehicles at a ski slope got there without every going into AWD or 4WD mode. I'd also bet a paycheck that more than half the people who have 4WD SUVs don't even know how to engage the 4WD.

(BTW, I get my three children and some of their friends into our Volvo wagon with seven passenger seating and *rear* wheel drive and go into Vermont every winter to go skiing. Put a shell on the top. Just took it to Florida with 5 people and two dogs.)
