If you want a nice Italian bike that's not like everyone else's nice Italian bike, go with either a Mondonico or Torelli frameset made from Columbus Nivachrome or Thermachrome steel.
I'd also match a nice steel fork to the frame (rather than aluminum or carbon), but suggest you request one of their older-style sloping crowns rather than their newer Pavesi crown. The Pavesi has no style (it looks like a unicrown!) & has very long leg sockets, which makes the fork blades shorter & stiffer (harsher ride).
