they just make sense to me...out of the way of rain water, and they clear up the door armrest for your arm. If you ask me, having BMW's 4 window buttons placed around the gearshift is dumb too...why not make me contort my arm a little more to lower the passenger side window???

The 4-door coupe is a great idea, and I'm surprised that it hasn't caught on as well as it has for the pickup truck market. Perhaps ads with a gun rack and bags of camo pants in the rear seat area of a Quad Coupe would do wonders to appeal to the stereotypical pickup driver.

What you say is true though...auto critics tend to have a stigma about Saturns in general, when in reality they are worthy competitors to the more mainstream products. Hyundai is faced with the same problem, although you could argue that the Pony II and Stellar were much worse than the first gen S-Series.

Back in the day when I decided on my green SL2, I was surprised with the space, number of features, and value provided by that car. While the new Ion is mechanically superior, it seems as though they replaced the rich feeling interior materials with more unconventional ones, which I really don't like (granted, I'm comparing an SL2 against a midlevel Ion2, and the Ion3 fabrics may be different).

In any case, Saturn is pretty ballsy for trying something new in the compact market, but some of their ideas just don't appeal to my personal taste.

It's a shame that you can't please everyone all the time...

Dorkmobile...my old boss' wife has an Echo, and I understand where you get that name from. Surprisingly enough, he has a Camry too.

Just a question...when did you make RHD Saturns, and what were they for? Mail delivery? I think Subaru had something like that too...can't remember exactly when (early 90's Legacy perhaps).

Cheers!

Mark :-)
