Considering they don't have very good lives while they are racing, they love people and bear no resentment. If given a chance they will try to lick anyone to death :)
The LA section calls them 40 MPH couch potatoes, because many of them have no interest in racing or even moving after their careers are over. Our guy was frisky for a while, then settled down and was happy with just a daily walk. If you were planning to jog or run with them on a leash, it's probably not going to happen. You also need to get really anal about making sure that they are ALWAYS on a leash or in a yard that you know for sure is secure, because they were bred to chase a moving object (rabbit) and they never lose the will/need to chase creatures that move (squirrels, cats, etc.), even if it leads them into traffic which often happens.
Ask me any questions, after 10 years I've been through it all.
