Nearby there is a bedroom community called Atherton. It's one of the richest neighborhoods in the US, but they have no downtown and no business tax revenue so their budgets are always a mess and in the news. Nearby there is a road that is the main gateway between local businesses and the major highway here (101) and it bisects one small corner of Atherton for about 100 yards. You guessed it, the Atherton cops patrol this small patch or road by setting up radar traps and just yesterday by checking for up to date registration and trucks going through. That's probably the most lucrative 100 yard stretch of road in all the US.
