A friend of mine once told me that the only way that you could run a Jaguar back in the old days was if you had a spare one while your daily driver was in the shop. Can anybody attest to this? I personally knew a few former Jaguar owners who had them in the late '80s and early '90s and they all told me that they went to hell and back with the cars in terms of maintenance and repairs. They're beautiful to look at but not to run.
