We're safe at Marvin K. Brown Saab in San Diego's Mission Valley. The fire came within about 6 miles. It's been very smokey both Sunday and Monday with a light to medium dusting of ash everywhere. MKB closed early Sunday and remained closed yesterday. We've opened back up today. It's still smokey out, visibility is only a 1/2 miles or so, I can't see across the valley we're in.
It's been smokey the last two days and you could always smell it, but today everyone remarked that the smell was more intense, I guess it's like you can smell a camp fire more after you put it out.
We live in the heart of the city about 4 miles southeast of the dealership
and were not close to the fire. One of our friends and his family live right in the middle of where the fire started near Ramona in San Diego Country Estates and they are fine last I heard.
One fellow was supposed to return his Saab lease today. We called Saab on his behalf to explain that there would be a delay as his car is full of his possesions as he was evacuated Sunday. He's back at his house now.
Just a few moments ago I heard from my European delivery customer, her house is gone. I'm to make arrangements for another key for her '95 900S and to replace the paperwork on her '03 9-3 Arc.
It ain't over yet!
