quite a lot, but won't break them loose or torque them properly. That takes an impact wrench, electric or pneumatic. I've used an electric drill to drive big lag bolts, and it works like a charm, as long as you're careful to stop on time. same for removal. Much, much faster. The torque limiting screwguns are safer, but won't get up to the 80 ft/lbs for the tires.
Looks to me (just shopped around for them) that you can get an electric (corded) Milwaukee impact wrench for $150-200 and cordless for a little more, and the high end corded ones develop 300 ft/lbs, which will overtighten lug nuts, but will break loose (I hope) a lot of stubborn bolts, lug nuts, etc. I chose corded because I will use it infrequently and the batteries won't hold up. It was a tempting thought to keep a cordless one in the trunk so my wife could break the bolts loose, if necessary, by the battery would just die sitting there.
