But pretty big. We have three cats, and this thing is doing a great job with the hair. The recommendation made by a Roomba fan on Amazon is to pick up Roomba halfway through the first few cleanings and empty the chambers, then allow it to continue (a large room takes about 40 minutes). Once you have done this a few times, it should be able to handle the hair amounts without a problem (the idea behind Roomba is you can vacuum much more frequently, and thus have much less dirt being picked up in subsequent vacuums.
The thing is just great. Again, we have 3 cats, so we have plenty of hair to contend with. It's actually part of the fun with Roomba- we set a few "traps" i.e. hair/dust spots, etc. that we wanted to see if Roomba would actually get- it got all of them! You actually start pulling for the little bugger!
