For some strange reason, the individuals that purchase these cars do so thinking that Ford has finally figured it out. No longer is there a blind spot, dangerous speeds, or traffic laws. With the late-model Taurus, Ford has commenced a revolution - one that has perfected the driving methods of everyone. HA!!! It has been my observation that Ford Taurus drivers think they are the only one needing to get somewhere. They forget that someone might actually be in that lane they're about to enter (without the turn signal, nonetheless). I was heading home on I-40 just the other night. The interstate narrows from 3 lanes down to 2 lanes...I was in the far-left lane and the Taurus was in the far right-lane. I was positioned slighty behind the Taurus, and with no usage of her turn signal, she takes over the center lane. Without even considering driving in the center lane for a bit to make certain her blind spot is clear, traffic is cooperative with her sporadic driving behavior, and her guardian angel is flying as fast as she is driving, she keeps on merging to her left. Where was I to go? As you might guess, I ended up on the far-left shoulder getting my teeth rattled out of my head by the nice little washboard lines near the edge of the highway. After noticing me, she glares a look of death my direction (sorry, it was all MY fault), and proceeds to rapidly accelerate. All of this happened at 70+ mph during rush-hour and could have easily resulted in significant damage, and possibly fatalities. This isn't the only Taurus story I have, but it's the most recent. I realize the original posting was in regard to Sunday-drivers, but I just want to make my point that those Taurus drivers out there are so unpredictable. Sometimes it's the car's fault (stalling...oh, wait, I didn't think Fords did that), but most-often, the driver is to blame. Watch out for the Taurus! Drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
