That more horsepower arrives at very high rpms. The peak is 270hp @ 6,200, 200 rpms past the Aero's redline! It's torque peak is 238 @ 5,000 which equals 227hp. The Aero on the other hand, makes 258 (272 in overboost) @ 1,900-4,500 and 250hp @ 5,300. So, to be more accurate, the Saab has more horsepower until you get up around 5,500+ or so. I don't know about you, but I do most of my driving in the 2,000-5,000 rpm range. I guess if you plan on getting the stick shift and spending a lot of time in the 5,500-6,800 rpm range, then the TL may be the faster car for you.
People think I'm nuts when I tell them the Aero felt more powerful than the G35 when I test drove 'em. It's all about the torque curve.
