i think snowboarding is easier.

i had been surfing and skating for about 7-8 years before i tried snowboarding. i picked it up the first day. i don't attribute the quick transition so much to previous experience in similar sports, but more to the guy who taught me. he refused to let me try turns or anything else until i showed solid understanding of the basics. (i.e. made me ride down the hill twice on each edge).

anyway, if you take it slow and really focus on the basics, i think it's pretty easy. but then again, when i tried skiing a few years before snowboarding, i picked that up pretty easy too.

it does hurt more to fall on a snowboard then on skis...
