College dream car. Purchased while "busting tires" at Trepke Tiretown in Boulder. Some old guy couldn't handle it's size anymore. She had 125,000 miles and was in very good condition.

1973 Lincoln Continental
460 Ford/C6 Auto
12" longer than Suburban
7 city /15 h-way(!!) MPG
50-70 MPH was surprisingly fast
125+ top speed (Colorado/Nebraska Border)
GVWR = 7000 lbs
Could carry 5 kegs of beer in the trunk - 3 standing up/2 laid over wheel wells
Handled really, really well for such a big car, especially on twisty dirt roads - throttle oversteer. I WAS Luke Duke.

Took it 4-wheeling on Lake McConnaghay(sp??) beaches on the North Platt in Nebraska. All the rednecks with their jacked up 4X4's loved it. We got really, really stuck in the deep sand. That car was awesome.

Cost = $500 That's close to .10C per pound.
