sure the graphics look worse, but on games like GT3 and Ace Combat 4, the graphics looks very realistic. XBox can't touch that. As far as the 128-bit subject goes, I'm not going to teach you about Sony's world reknown processor (actually it's a MIPS processor with loads of hardware like 2 64-bit vector units capable of 128-bit SIMD and other stuff). I assume you have access to Google, do a search. Next generation game consoles should be interesting. Sony plans on using the ultra advanced cell processor technology in their design whereas Microsoft does not plan on using Intel or AMD in their upcoming XBox 2. Recently, they closed a deal with IBM to design their processor. IBM invented cell processor technology, so their future should be interesting.
ps to your ps: The XBox contains a custom 250-MHz 3-D graphics processor from Nvidia that can process more than 1 trillion operations per second and produce up to 125 million polygons per second. Also, when PCI-express arrives, graphic cards will be used to do "co-processor" work and desktops will have supercomputer performance in the neighborhood of TFLOPS if I recall correctly. I'm looking forward to that.
