And to conclude this thread, yes, the Sonoma Mission Inn was absolutely wonderful. We went this past saturday. The bathing ritual was great--very nice to be able to sit in the pools, steam rooms, etc. with your girlfriend...great treatments, and we got a great deal on a great room. All in all, highly recommended.

Pricey? Yes, but we got a great deal on the room--$150 for a fireplace room thanks to my girlfriend's travel agent card--but other deals are available on their website, etc. I'd say its worth it for a special weekend if you can get a discounted rate. FYI, there is some construction/renovation going on currently but it was a very, very minor inconvenience, basically a non-issue, and maybe a good thing as it may be keeping some people away, hence it was surprisingly uncrowded for a saturday night which in turn may have helped us get a great deal on the room.
