I ran a set of Gislaved Nordfrost II's and was unimpressed by the traction. My solution was to get a spool of heavy duty weedwacker line (I think it was .110") and shoved it into the holes and snip it off as close to the surface of the tire as possible. Traction was improved and I never threw a 'stud'. Yes it was tedius, but I did one tire at a time while I was sitting watching TV at night. Plus the tires looked cool with a pattern of red dots around them,
