Well, more or less. Acetone is a rather useful adhesive solvent, is relatively harmless as petroleum solvents go (you and I have a trivial amt of acetone in our systems naturally, much more if you're 'starved'), and actually NOT so volatile as solvents go. Yeah, it'll dry out your skin rather quickly, dissolve latex gloves and attack some plastics (fog or make tacky). That aside, it's the first solvent I reach for to remove adhesives (or remove minute surface moisture) on gen principle before getting out the nasty stuff for above reasons - couldn't wrench without it. Nasty equals naphtha, xylene, MEK, Tec-90... those you don't want to bathe in :o)
