You should consider a CPO, Certified used Saab, if you're unfamiliar with our cars. This would give you some measure of confidence in your purchase. NG900 convertibles came out in '95, sedans the year before, morphed into 9-3's in 1999, and continued through 2003. Certified cars have to be 2000's and up which insures most of the latest upgrades.
95-98 900's where availible in V6, normally aspirated and turbo fours. I wouln't reject any of them summarily, you could find a nice one in any form. My preference would be the turbo. 9-3's where all 4-cylinder turbo only.
CPO 2000's are gonna' get down to the high 'teens and are availible with 3.9% financing for 60 months from Saab.
I'd get an SE or one with the premium package which includes the digital climate control, power passenger seat/memory driver's seat, and upgraded stereo, but again I wouldn't flat reject a plain one. If you're a serious performance nut than a Viggen might be a cosideration.
