Howdy.
Several months back (October 2003) my wife and I bought a 2000 9'5 Aero from a premium used car dealer in upstate New York. The car has been great, but one of the reasons we decided to buy that particular car was that the finance manager at VOB and one of the sales people (we'll call him Jamie) told me that I could extend the factory warranty with a GMAC warranty (Major Guard) at any point prior to the expiration of the factory warranty. Jamie's advice was to run the car until we got to 49,999 and then come in and buy the warranty. Well, we're at 492xx and guess what... VOB says no deal. "Can't sell you a warranty Mr. G. Sorry about that." "WHAT???", you sent me the darned brochure yourself. You told me umpteen times that I could get the warranty and priced it out.
Now, as an attorney, I realize I have little legal basis to force VOB to sell me the warranty, but my wife and I bought this car because we were told that we could extend the warranty and we desire to have the car protected.
Anyone got any useful words of advice?
Thanks,
Michael
