My ol'99 was worn out, so it had to go ($500 and don't call me if you don't make it home). Over the last years (early-mid 1990s) of driving the car parts & pieces started to be very hard to find. Finally the local salvage yard sent its last 99 to the crusher (I had picked most of the good stuff off) and it seemed to me the era of the 99 had come to a close. Its my impression the 99 is not, and probably never will be, a 'classic' or 'collectors car.' So I think the ones out there now may be hard to keep on the road.

Some truth:

I only need and want one car. So that car has to be all things to me - a lot to ask, I know.

I like having ac - the 9-3 is my first car so equipped. Even in the NW where I live now, I consider it a necessary luxury. And I'd hate to give-up some of the safety features of a modern SAAB.

But, I still think there should be a 'real' car available to those who want one. I don't want to be isolated and disconnected from my car & road. I'm DRIVING!, not sitting in my livingroom.

I think GM put too much Caddy in my SAAB.
