systems are on all the pumps. And I can pump my own or not, depending where I go. And the pump guys don't expect a tip.
In NJ, I find stations are often undermanned and if I don't want to wait I often just pull into the pump furthest from the jockey and start pumping. Maybe I'm a jerk, but I don't like stupid laws. When the guy says I can't pump (only about half the time) I stop. FWIW, I've found people who aren't from Jersey think the no-pumping law is a joke.
