I am in the process of selling a vehicle to someone who lives several states away. We agreed on a plan for me to sign over the title and a bill of sale and mail it to him while I kept possesion of the vehicle. Then, after reviewing the paperwork, he was to wire the money to my bank account. He received the title and bill of sale but now says it will be inconvenient to wire the money so he has a certified check. The deal is supposed to happen in a couple days and I have 3 other potential buyers. I have spoken to this person many times and feel like I can trust him but I don't like this last minute switch on our plan. Any thoughts? It is my understanding that even a certified check can bounce and the funds can be pulled from my account. I don't feel good about this. How does everyone else do this?
