My take on this 9-7x machine.
Likes:
- V8 option (gas mileage 'sucks', though) so you can actually do some pulling!
- Front Saab styling (from the front this is definitely Saab)
- Huge Room (which is expected from SUV)
- All those gauges
- GM reliability (this one will benefit from couple years of experience of GM powertrain mass production, as these are carry over from Envoy/Trailblazer/Rainier/Bravada)
- Parts cost/availability (unless dealer marks them up sky high)
Dislikes:
- General departure from Saab's heritage (turbo/fuel economy)
- Rest of the styling is too much GM
- No 3rd row seat (Honda & Toyota can put third row seat in the same dimensional package, for those who need extra passenger space)
- Fuel Economy (These better not require premium fuel, otherwise many of us frugal people are not going to be able to afford one of these)
Mixed/Unknowns:
- Interior styling (I'm ok with Envoy's interior and this one is better than Envoy's, but it doesn't feel Saab) - We'll see about this in real life
Bottom line - It's still a Saab, I'll still wave to the folks who drive these.
