for cars are so much higher, too.
The modular and unit-based approach to manufacturing that makes cars less expensive to build, is also be making them more profitable for mfgrs. And they add all the high margin toys like nav systems, leather, DVD, etc., and laugh all the way to the bank.
And off course all that stuff makes cars more expensive to fix, too. And as always, consumers get hosed when they buy into the hype that they must have all this stuff.
They really DON'T make 'em like they used to. And that's not entirely a good thing.
Makes me love the relative ease of repair of my 9000 and C900.
