Hey R.T.
I am a student at Bentley right now and I like the school alot. I know that your stats fit our criteria for acceptance on average. I am a transfer student here, and I'm finishing my first year here at Bentley. I think that Bentley fits your criteria better in some ways and worse in others. I have written alot of comparisons between Bentley and Babson because I also was looking at these two schools before deciding to come here, so this is simply my experience and should not be taken as anything more than just an opinion. So here it goes.
Bentley is very easy to get to from the pike so if you wanted to live at home I think it would be possible, just don't take any 8:30 classes. Bentley doesn't make you declare a major upon entry which is also a good thing. Bentley is also know to be much more giving with the financial aid here, for example most kids that I know that seem to have decent qualifications for financial aid end up taking around 8000 in loans per year which is much lower than what Babson kids I know take in loans each year. Bentley is also more focused on their Bachelors programs than their masters programs(which seem to be the focus at Babson). If you like technology, Bentley is the place for you. The teachers here are very good and helpful and the students are for the most part pretty mellow for being a bunch of soon to be yuppie professionals.
Now the other side. Babson is a more prestegious name to have on that resume after college, but most bentley students can have jobs out of school if they want them anyway. Bentley is very on campus focused so if you live far away from campus, it makes socializing difficult. Bentley uses groups in almost every class so you will have group meetings at least once a week, so be ready to make extra commutes to school a few times a week.
Now to relate school and cars, Me and a group of other students are slowly building a car club here on campus and have big plans for it. Babson also has a car club and seem to be doing cool stuff like dyno days and stuff which is a little further along than our club has gotten at this point. As a saab driver, there are many more saabs here than there are at Babson. Babson is overrun with mbz and bmw. This school is also overrun with bmw and audi to a degree so we are still a very small minority. Oh yeah, the one downfall of Bentley is that as of right now, Freshman living on campus cannot keep their car here, but there are going to be parking rule changes soon so that may be changed by the time you get here.
As you can see I am biased toward my school but if you are interested in Entrepreneurship, Go to Babson. Accounting, Bentley. All other business majors, it doesn't really matter, they both are going to give you a similar level of preparedness for life.
Good luck on those SAT's! I hope this helps you and if you have other questions about Bentley, e-mail me.
