Computer Assisted Gear Selection.
It's trivial to bypass, and of the tens of friends I have with 6 speed F-bodies, I've never known one who hasn't disabled it.
What an irritating feature. Far worse than Saab's "Shift Up" light.
And 6th gear is practically useless in an F-body - you need to be going 80 to not stall :)
In my STi, the 6 speed is very nice. For normal driving, I'm in 5th gear by about 35 miles an hour, and I don't need to touch it afterwards. 6th is nice on the highway. But for spirited driving, I'm always in the powerband - there's always a gear right where you want one. Just because it has a flat torque curve doesn't mean you don't want to stay higher in the rev band when you need power.
