Should just be included in the price of the good you buy. You don't tip a teller at the bank if you get good service, do you? Do you tip the person behind the counter at the cleaners when they bring out your ironed shirts? Do you tip the deli guy at the grocery store for slicing your cold cuts? Tipping is for the birds and I think it should be added to your bills. If you don't like the service...go elsewhere next time (isn't that what we do with the bank, cleaners, etc???)
I've never tipped take-out. I do however tip 10% for poor service, 15% for average, 20% for excellent. In large groups we typically just round to the nearest round price per person ($30 per person) this usually leads to a hefty tip...but who cares to wait for change so everyone can take home an extra buck?
I tip because its the norm...but I am very against it.
