If you sit at the bar and have a beer or two while waiting for your order of course you need to tip on the beers. If you are simply picking up dinner from the bar I tend to round up rather than hold my hand out for a couple bucks.
In general we tip 20%+ on resturaunt bills. Bar tabs vary depending on the service and amount of "free" drinks and of course how good looking the server is..... that one drives the wife bannanas.
It never hurts to tip the guy at the car wash to make sure those wheels get a good once over.
When in doubt drop a few bucks most likely the guy/girl carrying your bag, keeping your glass full or taking care of anything else for you can use the change more than you can.
