A/C and radiator fan Posted by IanC [Email] (#139) [Profile/Gallery] (more from IanC) on Tue, 15 Jun 2004 19:49:36 In Reply to: Good call?, Clay McNeely [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 15 Jun 2004 13:51:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Clay,
I had A/C problems related to my radiator fan. It cost me a compressor, although I must confess I'm still not 100% clear why. However, it isn't the fan exactly but the resistor unit. Apparently the resistor senses when to turn the fan on to keep both the engine cool (from the thermostat) and to respond to some need of the compressor (possibly by ESP).
Anyway, none of the items you listed seem to be too bad except as Jim noted. The clutch cable labor seems maybe a bit high but the rotor labor is more on the low side, IMHO.
I have 158K on my 96 SETC and it's been the most frustrating car I've owned but the best as well, and I love driving it.
