Im not old (25), but I value the goods as much as anyone else. You should start by getting a saddle with a relief cutout. When I was into biking, the Terry brand line was popular. Terry Liberator I think it was called. Most modern saddles incorporate some sort of relief cutout, but some are better than others. Dont compromise looks or weight for compfort in that area. Also, look for biking specific short that have the padded shamois. They make nice normal looking shorts now, and you dont have to wear the spandex that belongs on castro street anymore. Although some do still swear by it.

Some of the best deals in my opinion are from:
Pricepoint.com
Universalcycles.com
Jensonusa.com
airbomb.com
But, you should always support your local bike shop when possible.
