Yes, had a 91 model from 93 until 98 when we had twins. I loved that car. My wife made me sell it so she could have an Accord and I got her hand-me-down 91 Civic. I bitched about that until 2002 when I bought my 1999 9-3. She was glad I finally stopped bitching.
The older Miatas have that useless trunk because of the spare tire. I had a customer exhaust made that allowed me to move the spare under the trunk. It was the best thing ever - the trunk became usable, even though the replacement muffler didn't sound near as nice. I found information about it on the Internet somewhere and got Muffler Brothers in Dayton Ohio to do the work.
Mine was red with factory hard top and limited-slip differential. Toward the end I upgraded the factory AM/FM cassette unit with a cassette only unit controlling a 12 disk CD changer in the trunk. Put speakers in the head rests and upgraded the door speakers and it made a huge difference.
The red paint faded horribly - I think later years held up better. The only maintenance I did in five years was new ignition wires, front brakes and tires.
I still miss that car. It encouraged me to drive like a maniac though. Even worse than my Saab. Sure the Saab is much faster but the Miata handled the curves and corners like a dream.
