As an old Quark user I tried InDesign when I switched to OS X and haven't looked back. If you're comfortable with Adobe applications then the transition will be relatively painless. Quark took so long to introduce an OS X compatible version I really had no choice... plus I was curious to see how Adobe would handle a new page layout program having taught myself DTP on Pagemaker years ago.

Quark is now a dinosaur in my view, tho I have to keep a copy of 4.1 on my Mac because of a few legacy clients and service bureaus that aren't up-to-date with OS X. Sheesh!

I understand the OS X version of Suitcase is pretty good tho I have no direct experience with it on X. It always worked fine for me in OS 8.6. might want to check the Apple discussion boards to see if there are any new problems with font utilities in Panther. Avoid Font Book as suggested... it's not for professional users. Cheers!
