Legit but expensive....vs 9-5 Aero?.... How far away is the next state? It costs me $200 just to get a car from L.A. to San Diego, $500-700 from Denver, so $750 could be legit, but it sounds a little high.
Ask them what it is costing them and that someone mentioned $750 was a little steep for the next state, maybe $750 for half way across the country, but not the next state.
It's perfectly legit to ask for freight charges as a dealer. It gets goofy when a dealer AND the customer of the dealer are trying to buy the same car, but there's no reason why you can't be the freight company. How much do you value the local guy? Did you leave them any profit (not that you should care) because you may have agreed on a price for a car in stock and then selected a car only availible out of state. Relieving inventory or lowering flooring costs and shipping are legitimate costs.
And why not a 9-5 Aero? I believe you'll save a ton of dough at the huge incentives as an Aero SportWagon will get down to the mid $30k range, you'll have much more fun at the Aero Academy and spend a lot less time at the dealer doing repairs. Lot's of folks on these BB have had both the V70 and the 9-5 and lots and lots liked the 9-5 SportWagon better. Is a few more excessive horsepower and the weight and complexity of AWD worth that much?
