It's been awhile, but I remember the Million Dollar highway as being my favorite kind of road, a four lane, two each way, undivided highway through the mountains. Durango to Ouray, cost a million dollars a mile at the time.
With four lanes you don't get the tight curves of a two lane, increasing the speed and the fun, you have much better vision as you have more lanes and generally more shoulder to see around, you can chop some apexes with out straying across the centerline, and you can get around the slow pokes not getting stuck waiting for a passing lane. As I remember the Million Dollar Highway is banked pretty well too in some places.
Scott mentioned the highway over the hill to Santa Cruz, another 4 laner as I remember, although sometimes they divide 'em.
And my all time favorite 4 laner has to be Bernina Pass from Italy to Switzerland on the way to San Moritz. I was two up wife my wife on my BMW R1150RT against a friend by himself on an older 1992ish BMW R100GS, pretty even, redline in every gear, slam on the brakes, turn, and do it again, with the spectaular Alps and glaciers in the background.
