The article linked below at the Washington Monthly (despite the titlem not particularly political) discusses new technologies for producing ethanol from cellulose, such as corn stalks, switchgrass, etc. that produces much more than current methods do from corn.

They include estimates that ethanol, with the more efficient production using plentiful waste products, could replace gas...given the political and industrial will, that is.

So I wonder...how difficult is it to convert a standard gas engine to one that runs ethanol or gas/ethanol mixes? I know you would need new rubber seals etc and a reprogrammed ECU. How about using turbos with ethanol??
