The only way I've ever been taught to clean first surface mirrors (after years working in an optics, microscopy, and laser lab) was to wash them with ethanol. Ethanol evaporates with minimal residue left behind. If that wasn't strong enough, acetone could be used as well, followed by an ethanol rinse. The surfaces are too delicate to touch and scratch very, very easily. You might be best off sending it to the manufacturer for a refurbishing.
