run of really bad car luck :(

Things have NOT been easy recently.
Yesterday, I posted about looking for a body shop because my neighbor backed into my car while it was parked in front of my house. The damage doesn't look too awful--aside from a broken headlight, it's just paint scratches--but still, my beautiful 9000 Aero is now less beautiful.
A week or so ago, my husband accidentally left my rear windows down...the night that Hurricane Frances passed over us. I just about had a stroke when I went outside the next morning and saw that. Of course it wasn't just one rear window, it was both of them. The carpets were damp for days.
Then about two weeks prior to that, my car somehow was left unlocked overnight (I believe this had to do with a possessed remote entry clicker rather than my or his forgetfulness) and some resourceful person helped themselves to the $20 or so in quarters that I had in my ashtray. This may seem trivial since it was not much money and they didn't break a window, but it was very bad timing, as my mother was in the hospital at the time in very serious condition, and I was under a crushing amount of stress. Being robbed was the last thing I needed. (My mother is now doing better, and I no longer keep the clicker on my keys.)
But wait, this is just the Saab bad news! Our other car is a Volvo 850 wagon, which has been a real champ, until it passed about 52K miles, which is apparently when everything needs to be replaced. In under a month we racked up $1200 of repairs. And last night the funny noise came back. Grrrrrrr....
My brother's 2002 Jetta seems to have spent more time in the shop than in their driveway; the same day I got my quarters stolen, his fuel pump died (just as he was leaving the hospital from visiting our mom); once that was fixed, a bad stalling problem suddenly appeared, which the dealer can't seem to diagnose. There have been recalls and problems with that car since day one.
Not fun, not fun at all.
