I have Sylvania Silverstars in my Ford Ranger (9007), the Viggen (9003/H4) and had them in the 1997 Accord (9005/9006). In the Ranger, good results, in the Viggen good with SAE lenses, so-so with E-Code, in the Accord outstanding, but very short life. I suspect the Accord is putting out more voltage. The others have lasted longer. Interestingly, when one fails, its mate fails soon after.
I concur with the Osram recommendation, but they are not available in the US if I remember correctly. I have heard the European Silverstars are far better.
All in all, Silverstars are OK if you cannot go E-Code. E-code is a more cost effective upgrade. Durability is up to you. Do you like paying $36-40/pair every 4 months.
