Yes, the mobo is quite old. SD11 is a bare AMD "Slot A" board with almost no "tweaking" allowed. Because of its simplicity, I thought I would take a stab at putting it together just to get me started with stuff I have lying around. It is only AGP 1x/2x. It has been many years since I built a PC up. I also thought it might be able to tide my TIVO-desire over at the same time.

The more I look into this, the more I want to spend, but as Drew mentions, I am not looking to fully upgrade anything; I have my laptop for now. I am just trying to get a sense of what I can do, and in due time will slap in another MB and processor, and possibly make it a "full" entertainment machine. I will probably go with a Barton and one of the All-in-Wonder, etc,, as I have heard and read good things about it.

So for now, just looking to throw what I have and can find at it, and tinker. Maybe I will try to "upgrade" via a well-known auction site. Anything else? Thanks again!

P.S. The 700mhz Athlon is slot A, and unfortunately not the Thunderbird. It is better than the PII-233 I have lying around.
