I agree that they stand for turning sport into business. This is my main reason for routing against the Yankees (also the Rangers, Flyers, etc. - I'm a hockey nut). The other is that I am from WNY, and hey everyone, there is other parts to New York than just the city!! Although, part of me has to route for them because of my late Grandfather and GF's family who are all die hard Yankees' fans (one of her brothers is living in Boston, and the best part is he had the courage to go to a tattoo shop in Boston and request a Yankees tattoo. He surprisingly came away unscathed!).

I enjoy watching teams like the A's, whose "checkbook" is not even a third the size of the Yanks, but enjoy just as much, if not more success than them. Anyone else read Moneyball?! It makes me happy to read about those, including Steinbrenner (sp?), who feel money = championships; also hearing, "the ALCS is the real World Series!" However, for those, anyone remember who won the last 3 World Series, and a hint, it wasn't the money-oozing Yanks???

I'm not really cheering for the Sox (okay maybe a bit) or the Yankees (some of me has to as explained). I am extremely happy though that Boston has made it such an enjoyable series. Schilling last night was incredible, and no one can really argue considering the circumstances. It has gotten me a bit excited about Baseball again. Probably because there is no hockey... :o{
