The 9-7 is a badged Chevy Trailblazer. I'm not saying that is a bad thing.
This seems to be the route GM is taking with Saab--rebadging.
There was once a 9-3 Sportback concept vehicle. My local dealer has a picture. Why don't they build it?
GM has a long history of concept vehicles, followed by nothing. GM recently hired the designer of the PT Cruiser, so they can have a knockoff.
With rebadging, GM and Ford seem to use low-tech US motors, instead of higher-tech European ones.
My current stable is 2000 Saab 9-5 sedan, premium package; and 2004 Audo Allroad.
The Saab is my first fwd vehicle, and I don't like fwd particularly. The Audi is my second awd vehicle, and I like it.
Putting it together, I would like to see a new Saab 9-5 wagon with awd, in the 250 hp range.
Saab is unmatched for ergonomics. Although BMW has stopped angling the center section of the dash to the driver, Saab and (new) Audi continue this useful touch.
