How about a Zassenhaus?
I have a Model 156 which continues to work perfectly after 10 y of daily use. Its just out of warranty.. not that there is much to go wrong with it. I generally make my daily dose in a french press. The Z works well for this. It will also grind to espresso-size if you have a little patience, though I wouldn't recommend it for large families, etc.. I've ogled Gaggia, Pasquini etc motor grinders, but its all too much technology and motors for this luddite.
If you have larger needs, you might try a wall-mount Zassenhaus. Either way, when civilization comes to an end and the power grid goes down, at least you'll still have fresh ground coffee as a consolation (heated on camp stove, of course).
